A Video Conference Discussion for High School Students
The World’s Response to a Nuclear Iran

Does Iran have the right to move forward with its nuclear program? What will the world look like with a nuclear Iran? How should the international community respond? During the video conference, students will share their ideas and engage in a roundtable and discussion with the goal of coming to a consensus among the international community about Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

Americans for Informed Democracy (AID)
The AID site has resources to coordinate town hall meetings on America's role in the world and host leadership retreats. It also publishes opinion pieces and reports on issues of global importance.

American Forum for Global Education (AFGE)
AFGE provides resources to strengthen the education of American youth by fostering the ability to think creatively, analytically, and systematically about issues in a global context.

Center for Civic Education (CCE)
CCE fosters the development of informed, responsible participation in civic life by citizens committed to values and principles fundamental to American constitutional democracy.

Choices for the 21st Century Education Program
Through curricular resources, professional development workshops and special projects, CHOICES engages secondary-level students in international issues.

Close Up Foundation
Close Up’s programs strengthen participants’ knowledge of how political processes work, increases their awareness of major national and international issues, and motivates them to become actively involved.

National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS)
NCSS offers educators history, geography, economics, political science, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and law-related education resources.

Pennsylvania Council for the Social Studies (PCSS)
As an affiliate of the National Council for the Social Studies, PCSS promotes the teaching and learning of social studies in Pennsylvania.

Creative Connections
Creative Connections is a nonprofit international cultural-exchange organization that sets up class-to-class exchanges, particularly in music and art, between U.S. schools and students in other countries.

Delicious is a social bookmarking service for saving ("tagging") favorite sites online, sharing them with others, and accessing resources that others have collected. 

Discovery Education
Discovery Education offers resources for teachers for multicultural education.

Eduwiki is a K-12 education site that serves as a social network with grade specific links for teachers around the world.

e-Missions
e-Missions offers simulated, problem-based adventures around the globe and into space using distance learning technology; student-centered, team-based, and interactive educational experiences with a focus on math, science, and communication; sponsored by the Challenger Learning Center at Wheeling Jesuit University.

ePals
ePals is global community of collaborative learners, teachers, and academic experts in 200 countries and territories; safe and secure resource for linking K-12 classes, schools, and school districts for communication and projects; in partnership with National Geographic.

Encyclopedia of Life
Encyclopedia of Life is a project to organize a database of all information about life present on Earth; authoritative information authenticated by experts around the world; invites students and teachers to contribute.

iEARN
iEARN is the world's largest non-profit global network that enables teachers and youth to use the Internet and other technologies to collaborate on projects that enhance learning and make a difference in the world. iEARN offers both face-to-face and online professional development workshops and courses for educators seeking to integrate online global project work into their classrooms.

Gapminder
Gapminder is a non-profit site promoting sustainable global development of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals by increased use and understanding of statistics about social, economic, and environmental development locally, nationally, and globally.

Global TeachNet (GTN)
GTN is operated by the National Peace Corps Association,  a network of alumni, family  and friends of the Peace Corps. The GTN web site offers ready-to-use materials and resources for providing a more global perspective into school curriculums.

Globalization101.org
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace offers an objective, balanced, online resource to teach high school and college students about policy aspects of globalization related to civics, economics, geography, and history. This website contains 11 in-depth issue briefs, lesson plans, more than 70 news analyses, and interviews with experts in the field.

Google Earth
Google Earth: students and teachers can share geographic information, explore the world, develop maps, trace cultural events and family ancestry, create literary and historical tours, document scientific and historical data; Outreach section is filled with resources for global awareness and connections.

Go2Web20.net
Go2Web20.net contains numerous resources.  Each link is clearly described, and users may search a listing organized by themes and content areas.

Internet2/Muse
Internet2/Muse is a consortium of higher education institutions banded to share technology tools with all levels of education.  Muse is a global education network that offers many programs and school networking opportunities.

My Wonderful World
A National Geographic-led campaign, the My Wonderful World site offers an educators a kit to expand geographic learning in school, at home, and in the community. The site also includes links for lesson plans, activities, field trips, competitions, news, and pen pal exchanges.

National Geographic Society (NGS) - Educational Resources
Maintained by NGS, Education Outreach offers lesson plans, professional development, online learning communities, and other educator resources.

The New York Times Learning Network
Daily news summaries, quizzes, lesson plans, parent conversation starters, and more.

OfficeLive
OfficeLive is an online workspace for storing and sharing documents and projects in real time or any time; applications available in more than 30 languages.

PBS Teacher Source
This PBS site offers K-12 classroom lesson plans and activities

Project BOUNCE
Project BOUNCE includes a virtual visits section that provides resources for conducting videoconference workshops as well as links to the best videoconference sites around the globe.

Project Children LEAD (Learning Early to Appreciate Diversity)
The Project Children LEAD provides multicultural educational resources to teachers, students, and trainers to promote the value of diversity in classrooms, families, neighborhoods, and communities.  The web site includes themes that begin with microtopic-based lessons that build to macro-based studies.

The Globe Program
The Globe Program is a worldwide hands-on, primary and secondary school-based science and education program; promotes collaboration of students, teachers, and scientists on inquiry-based investigations of the environment. 

Taking IT Global
Taking IT Global offers resources about international events, organizations, and opportunities.

TeachGlobalEd.net
TeachGlobalEd.net is an ongoing collaboration of Ohio State University's Social Studies and Global Education program, its African, East Asian, Latin American, Middle East and Slavic and Eastern European area studies centers, and Indiana University’s Center for the Study of Global Change.  Online collections include print, web-based and media resources for five world regions, and topics related to global issues and connections.

TeacherTube
TeacherTube is a dynamic, video-based web site for teachers and students, from K-12th grade. With over 2 MILLION page views per month and rapidly growing, TeacherTube offers teachers and students the opportunity to view engaging videos on every subject taught in schools across the country!

TEACH WEB 2.0
TEACH WEB 2.0 was created by teachers to "safely steer students through Web 2.0 tools" and explore ways to integrate Web 2.0 technologies with teaching.
