The World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh is pleased to announce the launch of the Global Snapshot, a document that captures Pittsburgh’s evolving international landscape as it relates to people, education, and the economy. The Global Snapshot is designed to bring awareness to lesser known statistics that support Pittsburgh’s rise as a global city, and help promote Pittsburgh as an attractive destination for individuals from across the country and around the world to both live and work.
“Through Pittsburgh’s Global Snapshot, the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh wants to highlight the city’s growing international appeal and bring focus to lesser known facts about our region,” said Angélica Ocampo, President and CEO of the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh. “To cite just one example, many people may not be aware that from 2009-2014, while the overall population of Pittsburgh’s Metropolitan Statistical Area decreased by 0.06%, the foreign-born population actually grew by almost 14%.”
The Global Snapshot, generously supported by The Benter Foundation, is available to the public and can be accessed online. To download this resource, as well as links to the official sources used, please visit www.worldpittsburgh.org/global_snapshot.
