The British are coming – a Festival of Britain in Pittsburgh
September 8-14, 2015
Since the founding of Pittsburgh, people and organizations in Britain and Pittsburgh have enjoyed a special friendship involving business, culture, education and more. It’s time to celebrate Britain in Pittsburgh, and what better occasion than when Queen Elizabeth II becomes the longest reigning monarch (overtaking Queen Victoria) on September 9?
Britsburgh is designed to be inclusive and provides a range of activities that celebrate Britain in Pittsburgh. From English ‘High’ Tea, British food and beer around the City, Classical, Rock and Pop music, art, comedy, a very British Day out at the Highmark Stadium (sports extravaganza), Queen Elizabeth II lookalike competition, Britsburgh at the ballpark, a premier Commonwealth of Nations dinner to a very special concert by the Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge led by Stephen Layton, the festival should have something for everyone.
