Teacher Workshop Engaging and Preparing Students for a Globalized WorkforceMar 19, 2015 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
Today’s students will enter an interconnected, globalized workforce. They will face challenges and opportunities that are global in nature, but will have local impacts, including changing demographics, increased interactions with their peers internationally, and major technological shifts. How are schools preparing students to be globally competent? What are potential employers looking for in future hires?
During this workshop presented by the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, educators will receive an overview of global trends that will affect students’ futures. They will also have the opportunity to hear from international business and nonprofit leaders regarding the “soft skills” and “hard skills” vital for success in the workplace. World Affairs Council and other resources will be shared with participants.
This workshop is held in partnership with Intermediate Unit 1. Middle school and high school teachers of all disciplines as well as gifted coordinators and administrators are encouraged to join.
4 ACT 48 hours will be available. The workshop fee is $40. Lunch will be provided.
