As Latinos continue to represent a growing and influential population in our nation, Pittsburgh has the opportunity to capitalize on these shifting demographics to accelerate our regional growth. In 2016, Latinos generated 1.5 trillion dollars in consumption and created 4 million owned small businesses in the United States.
Did you know that most entrepreneurs in America are immigrants or first generation? In 2010, more than 40% of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants or by the children of immigrants. Latinos consistently exceed the rest of the population in aspiration to reinvent themselves through hard work and innovation evidenced by their rate of new business ownership.
