The Impact of Climate Innovation on the Road to Net ZeroApr 22, 2021 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recently announced that the CO2 levels in the atmosphere have reached their highest point in 3.6 million years. As more of the public and private sectors commit to achieving net zero in greenhouse gas emissions, it is essential that technology keep up with these ambitious goals so they can be achieved.
Join us to hear Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University and President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, speak on the importance of climate innovation and how advancing technology in this field is essential to reaching our climate goals. Audience members will have the opportunity to have their questions answered by Jeffrey Sachs during a 15 minute Q&A session following his remarks.
The second half of this program will feature a moderated panel discussion with Divya Nawale and CB Bhattacharya, on their views regarding climate innovation before answering questions from the audience. Divya Nawale (GSPIA ’16) currently works with Asian Development Bank on clean energy and energy programs across Southeast Asia. Prof. CB Bhattacharya is the founder of the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Sustainable Business and the H.J. Zoffer Chair in Sustainability and Ethics at the Katz Graduate School of Business.
This program is free to attend and open to all.
