The Summer Institute for Teachers is an annual two-day professional development seminar for teachers held in collaboration with Duquesne University.
During the Institute, teachers will have the opportunity to update their content knowledge, access resources to help prepare students for their futures, and design innovative lesson plans and curricula.
Continuing professional education credit is available through the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (pending approval by the Pennsylvania Department of Education).
The Summer Institute for Teachers is made possible in part through the generous support of the Henry C. Frick Educational Fund of The Buhl Foundation.
Testimonials from SIT participants:
“Simply stated, this was the best workshop I have ever attended. The quality of the presenters and the ability to interact with them made it an outstanding event. In summary, a valued educational experience.”
“I felt the workshop was the most intellectually stimulating event I’d attended in years.”
“You can’t begin to know the impact your organization has had on me and on my students. Outside of their own school, the World Affairs Council is the single most important educational partner in my students’ knowledge of the world today.”
