Angelica interviews Scott Shiller and Karla Boos about the upcoming Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts. This will be the fourth iteration of the Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts, featuring artists from all over the world and the country having their US premieres. The festival is running for 8 weeks in the Cultural District, with over 30 artists and 500 performances representing over 20 countries. We discuss how Karla and Scott selected the artists to participate in the festival, how local Pittsburghers can join in, how the Festival has evolved over the past decade, and why this Festival of Firsts is so important to the Pittsburgh arts community.
From the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust:
This fall, Pittsburgh’s Cultural District welcomes U.S., North American, and World Premieres during the Pittsburgh International Festival of Firsts, September 21 – November 11, 2018.
