Angélica Ocampo joined the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh in November 2015 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to coming to the Council, Ocampo served as Executive Director of Worldfund, a New York-based organization that supports teacher development in Mexico and Brazil. Born and raised in Argentina, Ocampo earned a B.A. in Political Science from Universidad Católica Argentina and a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from Columbia University. She has received scholarships from the Fulbright Foundation and from the University of California. During her distinguished career in the private sector, Ocampo maintained her commitment to public policy, social issues, and the non-profit sector. She was a senior communications executive with extensive experience designing strategy and leading regional communications teams for multi-national corporations in Latin America. Ocampo has held senior positions, including Head of Public Affairs at HSBC Argentina; she co-founded Grupo Sophia, an Argentine think tank focused on public policy; and served as Vice President of Fundación Impulsar, the Argentine branch of Youth Business International. She has lived and worked in Argentina, Colombia, and the United States.
