Anna P. Harrison joined the Council in August 2017 as the Director of Public Programs. She has over 10 years’ experience in international education, global marketing, and program management. Anna was born and raised in Europe and holds a B.A. in International Relations and French from Duquesne University. She studied in both Rome, Italy and Montpellier, France. She completed a year as an AmeriCorps City Year corps member in Philadelphia, working in an inner-city school to provide college/career assistance and to organize large scale community service projects. Anna was also a Peace Corps Volunteer for 2.5 years in Togo, West Africa, developing programs to increase girls’ retention in school and working with underserved female populations such as apprentices or small business owners.
After her return to the USA, she worked for several years in international enrollment management at both the secondary and higher education levels. Prior to joining the Council, she was the Assistant Director of International Admissions at Duquesne University. She has traveled to over 50 countries, has lived and worked extensively in three continents, and has presented at international conferences in Argentina, Germany, and the USA. Anna is excited to be a part of the World Affairs Council team and hopes to help “bring the world to Pittsburgh”!
