After attending a Save the Children Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C., Samidha wanted to contribute more to the organization. For her project, she decided to host a talent show at her high school with proceeds going to the fund.
In order to make the show happen, Samidha first met with teachers to plan and discuss the logistics of the event. Then, she called restaurant managers to organize catering for the event, gathered student volunteers, sold tickets, held auditions, and attended rehearsals. She knew that generating interest for the show would be difficult too, since the event would have to take place after school, so she and several volunteers made many posters and announcements.
The talent show was a success. Over 200 students attended the show and over $1000 was raised for the Save the Children fund!
